Standing with Ukraine: Labour’s Continued Response to Russia’s Invasion

In the seven months since Russia invaded Ukraine politics in Britain, Europe and across the wider world has been radically transformed. Such profound changes to the international order require the Labour Party to have a rigorous understanding of the consequences of Russia’s invasion and its impact on the UK and the future of British foreign policy.

This policy paper from The New Diplomacy Project features an introduction from Tony Lloyd MP - Chair of Labour Friends of Ukraine - and presents four briefings that provide insight into the future of Ukraine after the war, as well as the energy, trade, and financial dimensions of Britain’s policy. It is designed to support the Labour frontbench, MPs and members in understanding the wider ramifications of this seismic event, and in the development of British foreign policy for an era of deep turbulence.
